BOBCATS FALL AT GRANVILLE
  
The Varsity 'Cats (1-2) lost 49-7 at Granville (3-0) Friday. The Blue Aces, a Division III team, got great performances from senior quarterback Corey Becher and senior wideout Adam Alderman.

Granville got the scoring started on the first drive of the game when Becher hit Alderman with a 32-yard touchdown pass. The Bobcats came right back on their first possession and put together a long drive. Senior quarterback Jeff Shively hit senior wide receiver Philip Elking on a 33-yard pass to get the ball to the Blue Aces' 6-yard line. Two plays later, junior running back Michael Crawford ran it into the end zone from 4 yards out. Junior kicker Sam Stull's extra-point tied the game 7-7.

After that, it was all Granville. Becher, who finished the night completing 15 passes in 21 attempts, threw for 232 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown. Alderman made 7 receptions, including 3 scores. Senior Gino Gholoni caught a touchdown pass from Becher and the Blue Aces added a score on a blocked punt.

The Varsity 'Cats are back at Anderson Field this Friday when the Harvest Prep Warriors (0-3) come to town in the first MSL Cardinal contest of the season.
