Three alums to play in college ranks
This fall, the 'Cats will have three players on college rosters. Casey Rouch ('09) lettered last season for the John Carroll University Blue Streaks as a sophomore tight end and special teams player. Rouch will be active in the Blue Streaks' double tight-end offensive scheme and is the front runner to punt for the team when the season opens against Case Western on September 3rd.
Rouch is a business major at John Carroll, with an eye toward working in professional sports. He worked this summer as an intern for the Indianapolis Colts. His older brother, Alex, the GHHS career passing leader, played at Chapman University in Orange, CA, while younger brother, Oliver, is a senior member of this season's Bobcat squad.
Nate Webb ('11), the leading tackler for the 'Cats in 2010, has joined the Wittenberg University Tigers as a linebacker. Webb will be studying the sciences to prepare for a career in medicine. Wittenberg, a Division III playoff team a year ago, is ranked 20th nationally in D3football.com's 2011 pre-season poll. Webb was named the most valuable defensive player this summer in the CapCityPreps.com all-star game, featuring players from all divisions in Central Ohio.
Dan Satterthwaite ('11), named the outstanding lineman in the MSL Cardinal last season, will attend Butler University in Indianapolis, where he will play defensive tackle. The Bulldogs are members of the Pioneer League, which plays in Division I's Football Championship Subdivision (formerly I-AA). Satterthwaite was a four-year starter for the Bobcats and served two seasons as the team's captain. He has yet to decide on a major.
ghfootball.com will keep track of these former Bobcats as they represent GHHS at the next level, so stay tuned.
