Berne Union 26, Grandview Heights 6

Berne Union tops JV squad
The JV Bobcats (3-1) fell to the Berne Union Rockets' junior varsity team 26-6 on Saturday morning. The Rockets jumped out to the lead on their very first play from scrimmage with a long rushing touchdown and added to that lead with another score in the first half. The JV 'Cats cut into the margin in the second half with a long scoring drive capped off with an 8-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Fred Lane to wide receiver Jack Minnillo. On the drive, Cam Wallace and Zach Jump ran the ball effectively. A Fred Lane pass to tight end Chris Barte allowed the Bobcats to pick up a key first down and set up the touchdown. On the defensive side, cornerback Jarrad Tittel had two interceptions. The JV Bobcats play next on Monday, September 27th, as they host Fisher Catholic at Bobcat Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. If you can't make it to the Stadium, the game will be broadcast on the Internet via SportsJuice.com with the pre-game show beginning at 4:45 p.m.
