Newark Catholic 41, Grandview 8

Newark Catholic tops JV squad
The JV Bobcats (4-4) traveled to Newark Catholic last Saturday to face the Green Wave's junior varsity team. The Green Wave dominated the first half, scoring 41 points mostly on big plays. The 'Cats rallied after the break and scored the only points of the second half. Quarterback Fred Lane led the team on a drive that culminated in a 5-yard touchdown run by tailback Pat Muccio. The scoring play was set up by passes from Lane to wide receiver Jack Minnillo and tight end Chris Barte. The defense, led by linebackers Zach Jump and Jesse Hickman and linemen Axel Elkin, Taylor Wilcox, and Grant Westover, stopped the Green Wave attack in the second half with gritty play in less than ideal weather conditions.
